L1.11 and 119 only

None of the questions about 119 only in any of the other L1.11 posts have been addressed so I thought I would start a thread and see if we get any response.

Those of us who can only receive 119 do not get our 2.5 day guide updated without doing a re-boot. This problem was introduced by L1.09 and was not a problem prior to that. Us 119 only folks would really love to get the EPG but will settle for the 2.5 day guide and no re-boot. L1.11 made matters worse not better.

The question: Is this being addressed?

Marshal, I do not know the answer for this. I know that no plans are being made to move the full guide to 119.

Let's hope the 721 team see's this so they can take it into consideration.

(I am wondering if 119 is not using the new compressed guide format and this the problem)

It could be the compressed guide thing but I wonder why they would not have it on 119? I just wish they (Dish) would say something about the issue.

I agree Marshall. It is not right that we have to do a reset everyday just to get the 2 1/2 day guide. It is so frustrating when we have paid good money for a supposed "top of the line" product and cannot receive a guide without having to reboot! Since it worked before 1.09, we know it is possible.
Coming from a DishPlayer that had no problems at all and was able to download the 7 day guide with no problem it is frustrating to "upgrade" to the 721 and get the 2 day guide. :-(

I just wonder why you keep complaining about 119 only when you bought the 721 you could have bought the complete system for $50 more and would have gotten a dish 500 and Twin Dish Pro LNBF. You also can qualify for a free upgrade.

boba, some of us can not receive 110 due to our location, in my case Alaska. Sure, I would love to have it, I would love to get all the stations I am paying for. I understand that E* can not put all channels on 119 or move all their birds north so those of us in Alaska can see them. We are not asking for that. We are not even insisting that the EPG be available to all, tho it should be. We simply want the cheesy 2.5 day guide to work like it did initially. This applies to others besides Alaskans who are on the edges of the signal footprint.

Anyway, that is why I keep complaining. As I have said before when I explain this...a small price to pay for living in a nice place

I think the point is it was supposed to work.

If you buy a new car and the lighter is missing you will demand that they provide you one. And the excuse, "Well you can upgrade to this nicer cigarette lighter for $50 bucks.", doesn't really hold much water.

BTW the free upgrade you are talking about costs an extra hundred bucks since you have to upgrade to the Top 100 package so its not very free.
