I've been trying to upgrade my slimline dish with an sl5-s lnb without success. I think I have a bad swm lnb, but I'd like to consult the wisdom of the masses before I return it.
In order to keep things simple, I configured a single line to one receiver. So the connections are SL5-S -> power inserter -> receiver. There are no splitters or b-band converters involved here. When I boot the receiver, I get an error that it can't find the satellite signal. The receiver doesn't even seem to recognize the swm lnb, as the guided satellite setup defaults to a round dish with a multiswitch.
- I've tested the voltage on the coax at the dish and it looks good, so it's not a power inserter issue or an issue of the wiring between the power inserter and the dish
- Switching back to the old multiswitch lnb works, so it's not an alignment issue
- I've tried other recievers, and they all exhibit the same problem
- I've tried different coax runs from the power inserter to the receiver
- I've powered down everything and then powered them back up in the correct order
Is there anything I'm overlooking? Could this be anything other than a bad lnb?
