I have just run the cables from my Hughes GAEB0A in my basement to my bedroom upstairs and other end of the house (about 45 feet one floor). I am trying to find a way to control the receiver in the basement from the bedroom.
I did try the Radio Shack remote extenders and they didn't even work from the next room.
Does anyone have any suggestions for an extender or universal RF remote that might work for this setup?
thanks,
matt
I purchased a RCA remote extender from Walmart it it worked just fine where as the recoton model I purchased never worked at all. Try the RCA brand. They keep it near the DBS/cable tv accesories.

I have a system that works through the coax that I just took out of my father-in-laws. As long as you have a direct connection between rooms, it works great. Xtra Link 2 (http://www.smarthome.com/8197.html)
Make you a great deal, email or respond here.

Try this page, and go about halfway down. A UHF remote extender for a Hughes remote that clips onto the remote http://criscros.net/Dss_Satellite_Parts.htm? This is what I have on my Mitsubishi remote and it works great.
