Oh man they have "updated' my software. What no longer works? Are there any work arounds? What have they broken with this fix? What freash hell is this? Let's hear the latest horror stories.

I know my D* software people by now. If they write code to take a splinter out of your finger there is a good chance they will leave you with broken back.

I dont know why you have that feeling, they have been constantly improving things and adding new features. Almost every national release is a step forward.
Like suggested, if you really are so dissatisfied why not look at a different option?
That is why we are lucky enough to have 2 satellite companies to choose from and a whole host of local services depending on where you live (FIOS, UVerse, Cable, etc.).
