Real easy if you're a potential new customer - several different and very obvious links that take new customers to the same place
https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/wizard/buildYourSystem1.jsp?footernavtype=-1
Doesn't work for existing customers logged in - they have to access their account info and select the change programming option.

Well if you click Get DirecTV, you see a huge display of prices.

After signing out of my account I see it right on the front page: "Packages start as low as $29.99/mo" and clicking on it brings you to the whole menu of package choices with prices.
Make sure you sign out fully by clicking on the "Not YourName" link at the top to delete the cookie.

Logging out is the key. If you were last logged in, you don't get the prices until you actually try to add/change services on your account.
People who are not logged in (remember there are two levels of logged in, by the way), get the here are the prices pages and info.
Cheers,
Tom

That's the explore channels link, click on the link to the left for "packages" or above to "Get DirecTV" and you get the prices. It's not that difficult to figure out the costs.

Where is the lovely channel lineup PDF that they usually offer under the "Packages" tab? It used to say "Channel Listing" or "Channel Lineup". I've looked on the site for about 15 minutes and unable to find it.
I like printing that out, putting into a clear folder, and letting the wife/kids use it.

I'm surprised no one else has seen or used it. It was updated every 3 months or so with new and/or HD enabled channels. It broke the channel into their respective packages and all fit on one page.
Maybe since the package names changed, they're re-doing the pdf. I can always hope...

The one thing I do know the channel lists with the prices on top was better than a channel carousel. But that's my personal opinion.:sure:

I saw a good report on the news earlier today.
If you're looking at getting or changing your service providers for telephone, tv, cell, etc., ask each for a sample bill. This way, you not only see the advertised prices, but you also see the add-ons, so you can make a fully informed decision.

If you toss your cookies :) and browser temp files you will get the prices as if you never saw DirecTV.COM site before. Once you login as a DirecTV customer it must set a cookie and not show pricing without a lot of effort.

Wil they give you one? I tried looking up something at Time Warner Cable for a family member and I dare anyone to go there and find pricing info that makes any sense. They go so far out of the way to hide any info behind a least a few clicks and then it is not complete. TO get teh full info, evidently you have to put in all your info and actually make an order. DirecTV's site is about like someone coming to your house and reading the info to you by comparison.

I think the OP is talking about these screens. I believe they're expecting that the package bars at the top should include the price for that package.
Given the number of "bundled" packages (DVR, HD, etc) I would assume they removed the prices to avoid confusion.
On a different topic the browse interface is AWFUL and the compare isn't much better. They look cool, but if I were trying to figure out the channels they offer, I would quickly turn to a different resource (like maybe the "Print My Channel Lineup" option)

You're still not understanding. The cookie is still on your computer. You need to do what people said: Log in. Then click the link that says "not yourusername". When you do that it will log you out *and* delete the cookie. THIS is what you need to do. If you just log out the cookie is still there and the web site will detect it and show you different options.
So simply log in and click the no username link, do NOT log out as clicking the not username link will log you out along with nuking the cookie.

Confirm, but Comcast is even worse. I tried to get info for a shopper about what HD channels would be in their package and it required the customer to log in to get the info. Pathetic.

I've never had to log in, and I've researched comcast many times for many locations. I have had to enter address information that was valid, kinda annoying, but doable.
Cheers,
Tom
