Does anyone know if DirecTV's Extra Innings will carry the WPIX Mets games outside NY this year? I am switching from DISH to DirecTV to get the Extra Innings package, and I was curious if I would be able to see the WPIX feed of these games.

Also, I have a Mets fan club who meets at a sports bars on Sunday in Santa Monica to watch the Mets, and it was quite annoying to always have to watch the road team feeds and to occasionally not be able to see the games because the road team Sunday games were also OTA and not carried on DirecTV Extra Innings.

Yeah, I know, but I decided to go with DirecTV anyway (I love NFL Network, and DirecTV had way more games in HD it seemed).

Last year in 2008 MLB Extra Innings saw an increase in over the air games with stations like My 9 (Yankees Games), Milwaukee Brewers (WMLW Channel 41 Saturday Night Games), Houston Astros (My20) Games, San Diego Padres (Channel 4 COX) Games, Toronto Blue Jays (Rogers Sportsnet and CBC) Games. However There were still alot of teams over the air games we did not see like St. Louis Cardinals (Newschannel 5) Games, Tampa Bay Rays (ION) Games, Colorado Rockies (My 20) Games, Los Angeles of Anaheim Angels (KCOP 13) Games. Chicago Cubs/White Sox (WCIU 26 "The U") Games. and Oakland A's (KICU 36) and of course Mets (WPIX) Games. However The A's will not be on KICU This year They are moving 145 games to CSN California. I Think that about covers all the over the air feeds from last year. Here's to hoping the teams listed that were not shown last year on MLB Extra Innings find there way to MLB Extra Innings this year.

This is the one reason we've kept Dish Network as a second satellite system. Unfortunately WPIX is not HD on Dish, at least not nationally, but it's available as a superstation only on Dish.

Also all 20 Indians games on WKYC will be simucast on STO this year so there will be 154 Indian games on D* version of EI this year. They did this for all their out-of-town fans so they can still see the games. And best of all, all games again this year in HD.

Someone call Fred Wilpon and let him know that the Mets have out of town fans who'd like their team to acknowledge them as well :(
