Audio Stuttering Gone Wild

I recorded Ken Burn's Baseball Thursday 2/12/09 on MLBHD (while watching).
The amount of audio stuttering was overwhelming. Easily heard at LEAST a few times every 5 minutes or so. There were gusty winds in the area but not at the time of the broadcast. Is DirecTV just ignoring this or are they actually trying to fix it? I've read the other threads about it and it usually only happens occasionally and was not that distracting. Last night it was over the top.

I have had this issue on many HD channels. Sometimes a show is completely unwatchable. For me this problem is ongoing now for almost 3 weeks. This is not an issue on any SD channels that I watch (which is not that many).

You probably have low signal strengths on 99/103. Post back with all your signal strength numbers using the following format. Make sure you check both tuners if you have a DVR and both both sets of numbers if they are different.
You'll find these readings under "Menu" -> "Setup" -> "System Setup" -> Satellite -> "View Signal Strength".

Fill in your readings for each satellite and tuner using these examples:


Satellite transponders (32 total at 101º)
[Most of your standard definition channels are beamed from 101ºW]

I only get this problem on a couple of the channels I watch, both local channels. Mainly what I'm seeing is that the local channel is switching back and forth between HD and SD programming, when they do it my TV and/or surround system stutters and chirps as it acquires the new audio stream.

The network feed is in HD, but when they cut to commercial, etc. it's handled locally and the local feed is in SD (and only in stereo).......so.....Brrrrrrpppp. I see the display on my surround sound amp change from "Dolby Digital 3/2.1" to "Dolby Digital 2.0"

Then it repeats the process when it switches from SD back to HD.....annoying as hell......
