A multiswitch question

Can a 5x8 multiswitch be hooked up to a dual lnb dish and work properly until your ready to hook it up to a triple lnb dish?

Yes.

That is actually my configuration right now. I have a 30" dish pointing to 101W for DirecTV and one dual LNB on the dish. The LNB is connected to a 5x8 mulitswitch and I am using 5 out of 8 outputs right now since I have 5 single-tuner receivers.
