I want to add another HDDVR to my account but I can't. I currently have a 722 and a 612 and was told my only option was a 211 and upgrade it myself. Which I am willing to do. I just want to know how well the 211 works as a DVR. Is it worth doing?

If you really want the hd quality picture on that third tv NOW, then yeah it is worth doing to buy the 211 and get the ehd and have that activated.

You won't get quite the versatility of another 612 though. I'd really find a way to do that and just stick with paying the 5.98 a month dvr fee. That would be your best option overall. Just with the currently depleted 612 supply, you may have to wait a tad to do that.

I think I'll just buy a 612 or 722 on Ebay.

The 612 is considered a one tuner DVR for lease purposes, so you should be able to get another one on lease. Do some CSR shopping.

Tried, the best the CSR could do is let me buy one out right and give me $20.00 discount for 10 months making it 200.00. She told me there are no more to lease and it may be months and months before they get more.

Well, I won a bid on a 612 for 175 + 40 shipping.

The 211 receiver has no DVR features. The 211 it is only a single tuner HD receiver. The 612 receiver is a dual tuner rHD receiver with DVR features. This receiver will allow you to record and watch live programming at the same time.

If you want to get a receiver from eBay you got to make sure that if it is not a new receiver, there is no balance on that receiver. Some times customer service does not allow you to add a receiver to your account if it's there a balance link to that receiver from a previous owner. They might ask you to pay whatever the balance is

With the External Hard Drive option, yes, it becomes an HD version of the 508 (no DVR service fee, 1 sat tuner, adds OTA however).
