I know it's pre mature, but they say PC Locals will be available after March.
Does anyone know which bird they will be on. I have 2 dishes right now, one for 61.5 and the other for 110 and 119.
If the locals are going to be on 129, will I be able to re position my 61.5 dish?
Does the new 129 have a stronger signal? I think that's why they added another dish for my HD on 61.5.
Thanks in advance

Yes you can repoint your dish to 129. Since CIEL 2 has went into service at 129 the signal strength is much stronger should be as good as 61.5.

Can you see 129 from that part of Florida?

I don't know if I can see the new 129. Seems silly if they are going to be putting my HD locals on 129, the people who view these locals would have access to the signal. Don't you agree?
I really don't know which sat they will be on, I just assumed with the new 129 that's where they would be.
Is there a way to find this information out, or is it still to pre mature.
Thanks for taking the time to answer, I appreciate your reply.

Could be on 61.5, after pulling someone further west off 61.5 to 129...

He wants to know where his locals are going to be. Pointing at 129 is not a guarantee that his locals will be there. E* installed many 1000.2 dishes up here in the Cleveland DMA before they decided to use 61.5 insted for the HD locals.
Having your HD locals on the eastern arc is a catch-22 if you have non-ViP receivers active on your account. While the SD locals are on either 119 or 110, the mirrored locals on the Eastern Arc will only be seen by ViP receivers.

Thanks for your response Michael.
I have a 722 VIP receiver. So if I'm understanding you they may decide to place my HD locals on 61.5 and not on 129. Is that possible?
Finally, not really sure what this dish 1000.2 is, or if I'm considered in the Eastern or Western Arc.
Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks again

None of the spotbeams from 61.5 hit the Florida panhandle. So no, they won't be putting your locals on 61.5 anytime soon. The signal from the new sat at 129 now covers FL. As long as you have line of sight, I don't see any problems.

A 1000.2 is a western arc dish which looks at 110, 119, & 129.
A 1000.4 is an Eastern arc dish which looks at 61.5, 72, & 77. The spacing is tighter on the Eastern Arc so that is why they make 2 versions of the 1000.
While it is unlikely for E* to put HD locals on a full conus beam, you can see 61.5's full conus beams in FL. Your locals could also go on one of the other 2 Eastern arc locations.
The majority of HD channels are mirrored on both 129 & 61.5, with a few on 110 as well.

Thanks again Michael.
I will keep you posted as to where they are going to be putting my locals.
As always I appreciate the response.
