For owners of the LG BD300 Blu-ray player, there is a recent software update available.
The new SW Version number is BD.8.16.537
This update enables the BD300 to stream YouTube content.
Here is an article from Engadget HD,dated 2/12/09.

After several failed attempts to update the BD300 to the new software,I called LG's customer service and discussed the issue with them.
They are sending the update to me on a disc via US Mail.
If anyone else experiences failure issues in regards to attempting this update,I would suggest folks to call LG at the toll-free number listed on a label, located on top of the BD300 player.

Sounds like a nice upgrade to your LG. I went with the Samsung BD-P2550. It has Netflix and Pandora streaming. With any luck Samsung will follow LG and add Youtube. Good luck with the new firmware.

Thanks. :)
The CSR that I spoke with said 7-10 days in regards to getting the update disc, possibly sooner but,I won't hold my breath on that notion.
I imagine that you are enjoying the Samsung BD player,eh?

UPDATE :
Well, the software update finally downloaded/installed via our DSL connection.
I wonder if LG's servers were having some issues previously...
Anyway, playback of the YouTube content is good at this time.
PQ looks good, with no audio issues yet.

At first I thought adding support for YouTube streaming was silly. But, after the update was installed, I remembered that I have some of my own videos on YouTube. So, I searched for my user name and played one of my videos. I was pleased with the quality of the playback. It was better than I had expected based on my previous YouTube experience.
