It seems that Cendyne is now pushing a new dual media model instead of the Pioneer based 105. That may explain why we haven't seen them on MEGA sale lately. Wonder if they are even being sold by Cendyne anymore????

The Dual media seems to be the same as the Verbatim dual media models (not sure is Cendyne makes the Verbatim units or puts their box on the Verbatim units like they did with the Pioneer.) The Internal lists for $299

Good now that SONY has a little competition for dual format DVD, maybe they will drop their damn prices down on the DRU-500A finally!

I just don't see the point of dual mode dvd burners. You still have to pick which type of dvd you are going to burn, it's not like you magically get dvd that will play in both players when you burn. Still, I guess you are hedging your bets that one standard might win out before the other. My guess would be that there will always be dvd players that will play both, and at the time either format obsolete, something new will take their place, and you'll probably want to transition your old dvds to the new format.
