Did anyone have any problems with audio on last night's Oscar telecast? My JVC receiver kept flashing OVERLOAD & the audio would go out. Turning the receiver on & off would solve the problem for a moment until it would overload again. Finally someone turned off the surround sound & that fixed the problem.
Never had any problem like this ever before, of course it happens while I have a house full of people!
i've only watched about 1.5 hrs of the broadcast so far and about the last hour or so i saw was a few seconds out of sync.

Was it me or did anybody else notice (maybe nobody gives a rip) but the sound mix on the show was all over the place. The big production number in the middle about all the musicals was atrocious. With all the work the singers and dancers put into that it was all lost in the distracton of not hearing the music accompanying them. My opiinion, but whoever was technically resopnsible should not get the gig again. Also, we kept hearing a computer beep every now and then, any one else hear that? Or was it our imagination. I know its not a big deal at all, but usually the production is a lot better than this. Most vocals get some reverb, they were dead and sounded flat. Budget cuts I guess, do we need to send money for a reverb unit next year? The stage manager must have passed out before the show and the janitor must have put down his broom and taken over. We heard cues being given live on the air. Staying to the end? Heres the keys turn out the lights and lock p when youre done.
