I may have found a way to recreate the loss of signal on 1 tuner from sats 99c & 103c that some are having.
If you are experiencing this & have 2 HRs, try this:
~On one unit (unit 1), get both tuners on channels from 99c & 103c. (I used TNTHD & BravoHD)
~On your other unit (unit 2), check your sat meters. Are 99c and/or 103c on 0s?
~Now, put unit one's tuners on SD channels.
~Then, recheck unit two's meters. Are 99c and/or 103c back on?
This may help us pinpoint the issue or it may prove nothing. lol
Setup...2 HR20-700s, Slimline dish, all equipment is 3+ years old. No multiswitches or SWM...4 lines to HR20s.

This might take me a couple days to recreate in my house, but I might be able to.
Does it still happen if you reverse which are unit 1 and unit 2?
Which manufacturer made the LNB module?
Cheers,
Tom

HR20 set on two channels you mentioned, recording both. HR22-100 in another room has full signal strength on all sats, no loss. Dish is original AT9 with two lines directly to each DVR.

I reversed input lines into the affected unit and the issue followed to the other tuner...meaning, it was tuner 1, then it was tuner 2.
I'll try and find the LNB module today. I think it may be a LNB issue...maybe there isn't enough "power" to run 4 tuners on 99c & 103c??
I'm not as advanced in LNB/Dish knowledge as you guys.

Thanks for hope.

Thanks Dave. Were you having problems before?

Only problem Ive had was an occasional Tuner 2 message flashing. Ive always gotten all the channels.
If your problem changed when you changed lines, swap the BBC's but keep the cables on the same tuner. If the problem switches back, order a new BBC.

Well, I recreated the issue this morning. When recordings on the unit in the den on BravoHD & TNTHD started, sats 99c & 103c on my unit lost signal on the bad line.
Are BBCs a possible cause, or is it likely a LNB?

No worries. We only got this way by doing what you are doing--Reading DBStalk. :)
I'm guessing power is not the issue. Each tuner sends power to the LNB and the LNB "should" get power from just a single tuner. Four should be sufficient to assure everything is good.
(I once ran a very long run to a WB68, splitters for my switches in parallel, to a medium length run to a dish on a single tuner. Everything worked for the short term of the test.) :)
Yes, BBCs can do strange things, but my leading guess might be a bad port on the LNB.
Good luck,
Tom

Thanks Tom, I'll order a new LNB and see how that does.
Now, to figure ouch which LNB to buy lol.

Sigma,
The SL3 will work in most cases, but there are some SD locals that come in via 119º .. What Designate Market Area (DMA) are you located in. I'll try to find out which sat they come down on .. or more likely someone else will let you know before I find out :)
If you get your SD locals from 101º then the SL3 is really the best option.

Actually, if Allen, TX is your correct location I suspect you are in the Dallas DMA which should be on the 101º location .. The SL3 should be fine.

This quote should be a sticky or something.....a lot of us have this issue.
Unfortunately, future is pretty open ended, so I will not expect anything soon.

If you have an HR21-100, HR22-100 or R22-100 the future is now .. The staggered download just started today .. notes are stuck.
HR20-100 will be soon, but it shouldn't be too much longer.

What about the HR20-700s? I downloaded last weekends CE an I am still getting the 'Seaching for Signal on Tuner 2 ' issue. Will this be in this weekends CE again?

Well, my problem is back. I noticed something new and noted itHERE (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?p=2021639#post2021639).
It is like using the online scheduler cause one tuner to flip out.
