back story:
I'm working on a little project to pull content off my Directv HD DVR and pass it other devices such as Boxee. I'm a total newbie when it comes to the technical issues of Directv but I managed to extract off my Directv HD DVR a HD recording of a movie and am looking to see if anyone knows what type of DRM (if any) has been applied by DirecTV.

From meta data, it appears that the video file is encoded as mpeg2-ts H.264. File size for the movie is around 5.2 gigs. Playback in tools such as VLC currently fails and I am assuming it's DRM related, but I have not had much time to look into the issue and figured it was probably common knowledge.

Thanks for any info..

Sorry .. Data extraction and decryption is absolutely against the rules here @ DBSTalk.com .. As a result, the thread is being closed.
