I have an Onkyo TX-SR605 and a self built PC with a 512 MB eVGA nVidia Geforce 9800 GT video card. I use the provided DVI to HDMI adapter to connect the computer to the receiver. This setup displays the computer's video and audio. My intention is to use this computer as an HTPC.
Here's the issue:
When I turn the computer on and change the input on my receiver, I see the computer booting up. If I change the receiver input or the computer goes idle and turns off video output, I am unable to get video back. The receiver says "No HDMI Signal". I usually have to power down the computer and cycle the receiver's power as well, but this does not work consistently to get the video back up.
I am not sure why the PC stops outputting to HDMI, if that is the case. I may have to connect a second monitor to see if some setting is getting changed. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.
