Good Day,

I have decided to make the move from Cox cable to Dish. Can someone who knows the Dish hardware please give me some configuration reccomendations?

I have 5 HD TVs and I would like DVR capability at all 5 (4 at the least).

Two small tvs are hung on the wall and will only have a coax connection. Currently I receive OTA signal with great picture.

I would like HD signal for the other three. They all have a media outlet with 2 coax, 2 RJ45, and two RJ11. All wiring goes to a single point. I wouldn't mind putting one box in the wiring closet (but not necessary).

I would like to keep the hardware to a minimum if possible?

Will waiting for the 922 help my setup at all? Will it even be released this year?

Thanks so much

Dish has a lease limit of 4 TVs, meaning they will only lease you receivers to support 4 TVs. Dual-output receivers count as 2 TVs.

The problem is that the TV2 output on the dual-TV receivers is SD only.

Dish will also only lease a new customer a max of 3 receivers, and there may be an upgrade fee to get those. Anything beyond the lease limit and you must buy outright, and pay for any installation-related costs.

Given your needs, you'll probably want to stick to single-TV receivers, which are the ViP612 2-sat tuner HD-DVR and the ViP211 HD single-tuner receiver.

But if some of the tv's will not be used at the same time, you can run one of the two HD outputs to one HD TV and the second to another HD TV. Both of these tv's will be viewing the same program/dvr recording, but it will cut your need for the number on HD receivers.

If you wanted more than 4tvs you can always purchase the receivers your self... (some of the boxes run 399.99)

Thanks for the suggestions ... I am a little confused by Dish's policy though. I don't really understand the reasoning behind limiting customers to 4 televisions.

Any reccomendations if I should call Dish directly or seek out a "good" installer?

Thanks
