I have been having a problem with my 508....
If I decide to recored a future show by selecting it from the program guide, the unit returns to the show I was watching instead of going to the PVR menu to set up a recording? Make sense? Example... I am watching HBO... I hit the guide button and look out a few days and find a movie on Cinnemax that I want to record... I place the cursor over the show and press select, instead of going to the PVR menu it goes back to the show I was watching on HBO... A power button reboot helps, but it seems that the next time I sit down to do a recording the same problem pops up? My 508 is running 195....
any insight?

That bug has been around for a while but hasn't happened to me since 167. Instead of pressing select press the record button and it should work everytime.
I thought of pressing record also.... It still jumped back to the movie I was watching.

Same problem here. Haven't had it until p1.95. I find scrolling to the next available program, then pressing select gives me the PVR menu. I then cancel it and go back to what I wanted to record in the first place. It's a real pain when you've searched ahead through one of the movie channels and find something to record. Remembering where you were can be frustrating (maybe it's just the age thing).
Ha. I have the same problem, too (with a 501). And it only seems to happen (like with MikeW) when I've scrolled days in advance on the guide to find the program I want to record. At least I know I'm not alone.

Still happens to me one in awhile, but not as much as it used to. Resetting it every few days seems to help.
Yep, me too. I usually get to the timer screen on the 3rd or 4th attempt when it occurs. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often.

I just received 196 and I still have the same problem. It seems to occurr when I am several days out in the guide. Most frustrating! I even had it happen when pressing the record button.

I have found that on occassion, when I set a record from future day in the guide it actually sets the event for the show just prior. When you create timer, the screen jumps, falls back to guide and the dot is in the wrong place.

I'll ditto that one, it happens to me quite a bit, I just forgot about it. It seems to happen if the hour you select is not flush left in the guide, that is the only time I have seen it happen.

DarrellP, that happens to me pretty consistently. I've only had P196 a few days so haven't had a reason to see if it's fixed.
