From Yahoo Tech News:
ZillionTV is the name of the latest entry into the IPTV market.
I see at least two "catches" to this,so far:

1. Scheduled to arrive this fall, the set-top box will be "free" with a one-time $50 activation fee.
2. The boxes will only be available from your ISP.

It is equipped with an HDMI port and Wi-Fi.
It is capable of outputting 480i,720p and 1080i images.
The device looks more like a black rectangular bar than a box.It is designed to sit along the top of your HDTV set.
It will deliver both PPV and free,ad-supported TV shows and movies.
Price point for PPV is expected to be approx. $3.99.
Free movies will come with 3-4 "pre-roll" commercials, while TV shows will have ads interspersed during their natural commercial breaks.
You won't be able to skip the ads,but you get the chance to pick the kinds of ads you'll see in the settings menu.

According to ZillionTV senior vice president Patrick Gauthier, the service is promising 15,000 movie and TV titles by the end of '09.
They already have agreements in place with the following studios:
Disney
FOX
NBC/Universal
Sony
Warner Bros.
They are currently in negotiations with Paramount and Viacom.

How is this new box different than the Roku player? It sounds like exactly the same thing. For those of you who don't know, the Roxu was originally just for Netflix but they have now amazon rentals to their offering and more to come. BTW, Roku rocks.
