Welllllll....... looks like they are going to be using the ENTIRE 800 block for Spanish programming. Or at least half of it anyway. (825-880)

See ya,
Tony

It will be nice for the Dish Latino subs to have all their channels together, not to crazy about sticking Toon Disney in their too, but what the hell :)

I think it's "ocho ciento bloque". :)

831 Futura West actually showed up on my 721, but it is blacked out in my area.

BTW: There are 3 more new channels out there somewhere.

that maybe leaves the rest of 600s, 700s and even 800s (if needed) open for more (supposedly upcoming) Ethnics :)

John - what does "trickle" mean again? :)

I counted - 29 channels above (video/audio and some audio only)...

Isn't that more Latino channels now at Dish, then at DTV (including DTV's few audio only channels as well)?

I think so...

It's the stream which keeps the current and next program updated in the EPG. Trickle=Slow as in the stream was reduced to a trickle.

I think the Toon Disney referenced in the Latino lineup above is the Latino Toon Disney. The D* Latino channel (Latin America service areas) is in Spanish....I saw it while staying in a Mexican resort earlier this year.

It's close, including the 7 audio channels, D* has 30 Spanish channels by my count. But when you can get them for $15/month (sans Uni and Gala), D* still wins the price war, especially with their Bilingual offerings.

That's the BIG problem I have with the Dish spanish package. Eseentially I would be paying for Toon Disney, Univision E&W, Telefutura E&E, and Galavision twice if I keep my AEP and add Dish Latino. If Dish latino was $5 less as a package with AT100 and up I would be much more likely to subscribe long term. I am going to subscribe next week to see the new channels for a month, but after that, unless they knock my sox off, I'm dropping the package again.

Dish needs to drop Dish Latino 2 and Max like a hot potato and make it AT100 Latino, AT150 Latino and AEP Latino with package pricing.

And most importantly...allow some of us the oportunity NOT to support playboy! I like the fact that the channel can be blocked and even not added to the package, but it costs the same either way. Even if it's a buck discount for that! And the fact that they will block the channel (wont activate it at the subscriber's request) makes it clear that it is very possible to do this.

Why not a AT50Latino too? Even though I do not speak Spanish and would never purchase those packages I agree with you on this one, this would be a better deal for subs who want bi-lingual programing and would be much more competitive with the D* Para Todas packages.

On another subject, I suspect the channels like Univision, Galavision, Telafutura and Toon Disney that are in both the Latino and the AT packages will be mapped to both the 800 # range and the current # that they are on in the AT packages.

There is already an AT50Latino, Dish Latino Max...

True, but the price should be discounted more, Latino added to AT50 should be a only a $15 add on and a $12 add on to AT100, AT150 and possibly a $10 add on to AEP. :)

The only reason why I didn't include an AT50 Latino was because Galavision, Univision, Toon Disney and Telefutura are not part of AT50, but they are part of AT100 and up. So the reason for the package discount...double charging on these channels was gone.

I understand your reasoning, however both of these packages are basic packages and have the $5 access fee built in and anytime one gets multiple premium movie packages they get a discount and no two premium services share a common channel. Another option may be to leave the Latino package price points alone but add some additional channels from AT100 and AT150 to at least DL2 and DLM and give DLM the option to add remaining AT100 channels for $7 or remaining AT150 channels for say $12, all premium movie channels for $32 ( same price difference between AT150 and AEP ) or all remaining AT150 channels and premium movie channels for perhaps an additional $36.

I bet that the old 600 block latino channels will be used for DISH's 100 international channels quest.
