Is my DirecTivo dying?

I have a Phillips DSR708 DirecTivo which skips or has brief pause every 20 seconds or so when watching. If appears to be worse after rewinding then watching a show. This is with both watching live and recorded shows. My other 2 DVRs are working just fine. Is this a telltale sign that its death is imminent? :( Thanks!

Those appear to be common symptoms of hard drive failure.
