I dont think Fuse is owned by MTV Networks. I think the same people that own Lifetime owns it if I am not mistaken among other channels.
Actually Cablevision owns Fuse under its programming division Rainbow Media Holdings

It was just a name change, no change in content so far that I noticed.
I saw the CEO of Fuse on the news the other night. They're aggressively going after MTV networks. Their new focus is on (get this...) MUSIC instead of youth culture. Viewers actually help program the videos that are shown by their votes which are displayed like a stock ticker at the bottom of the screen.
I thought it was funny that Fuse bought a huge billboard right in front of MTV's studios in New York to announce their new format and image. Image it though, a music network that focuses on music. And I thought VH1 Classic was the only place where you could get that.

Wow, music on a music video channel, that's a new one. All this time I just thought music video channels were about some stupid college kids making total asses of themselves. I really hope they can give MTV a run for their money, MTVs Spring Break specials are some of the most senseless piece of garbage on TV.

I saw a promo on Fuse the other day with Uncle Sam saying "I want you to resist 1515!", and I thought it was pretty smart. MTV's studio is at 1515 Times Square, and they once had a show called "News 1515".
I saw an advertisement with them using Sally Strothers mocking VH1's Save the Music campaign. While I applaud Fuse for playing all music all the time I think it is in very poor taste to mock a program that raises money and awareness for public school music. Save The Music is one of those few noble programs out there. Exploiting such a program for the advertising of a rival network is just in poor taste.

I think the stock ticker for the songs ratings is cool. Its like a countdown (or trl) gone to the next level.
