The small dish came out on top for customer satisfaction among satellite and cable TV companies as rated by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).
Of the satellite and cable TV companies included in the ACSI, DirecTV posted the highest index score - a 72 - which is a two-point improvement over its leading position last year. EchoStar's DISH Network was a close second, with a 71 score.
Customers surveyed by the ACSI were asked about such issues as perceived quality, perceived value and their expectations prior to subscribing to the service. The ACSI also measures customer loyalty and retention.
The overall weighted average for cable TV companies was 58. Time Warner Cable scored a 61 in the survey, followed by a 55 each earned by Charter and Comcast.
