Call and cancel your install, I do not believe there is any commitment until the hardware is installed and the work order is signed.

You can cancel the install without any problem. The commitment is not triggered until installation.

Sorry about the wifes job.

Until activation. Seen jobs where people cancel after tech puts in boxes but didn't call in yet.

You are correct, the activation of the equipment triggers the install.

To the O.P., if your wife is at home more now, she might need something on the TV to watch..... :D

Seriously though I feel for you, so many people have come to depend on 2 incomes these days it's sad. Good luck, hope she finds work.

As has been noted, you are not under contract until it's installed and activated.

Did you happen to put a deposit down via a credit card or anything like that? You may need to stay on top of that situation to make sure you get the charges reversed in a timely manner.

Sorry about your situation. Best of luck to you and your family.

Call and cancel the install. Don't wait for the installer to show up to do the work and then refuse it. He won't get paid for the time or travel to your house so if cancelled in advance he won't have to make the trip.

I agree with Carl on this, definitley cancel before the install date...

+1, defintiely cancel. That tech makes nothing if you cancel him at the door, thats just taking money out of their pocket.

Sorry about the wife's job, best of luck!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. Her income is not nearly as important as mine, (I know that sounds bad, but it's the truth). I think that I might be able to figure it out since I am so sick of Time Warner and their bs. Just need to cut back on the eating out and beer, hopefully should be good. When you hear the news of "Lost job" you immediately panic, that's what I did any way.

You might just want to cancel it anyway and wait a couple months to see how things actually work out on the budget. IMHO better to not be locked into the 2yr commitment with things up in the air.

It's not the monthly bill that I'm worried about it is paying the extra 260 something dollars for the extra hddvr and internet connectors now that is the problem. Unfortunately 2 dvrs is a necessity.
