I have a D* system with this setup:

Dish Slimline-5S (SWM)

with this LNB

PI SWM ODU only D*

One RG-6 cable to L1 on receiver, both tuner works.

Receiver HR-22 Mfg-100

All above works Great I receive all HD channels

I purchase a Slimline dish to use when I travel

Dish AUG-S5

with this LMB

Do I need a PI for this setup, the installation manual
does not show using a PI.

I have to use two RG-6 cable to L1 & L2 on receiver, for both tuner to works.

When I try to use this setup I get 95 to 100 on satellite
101, 110, & 119. I get "0" on satellite 99c & 103c.

If I use the PI for the other dish I get no siginal on
all satelitte.

What do I need to do so my travel dish will work?
I have a Birdog 4.0 meter & a acutrac 22 pro meter
to check siginal & satellite.

Thanks in advance

NO PI on the conventional slimline LNB!

As far as aligning. Here's the manual... http://www.solidsignal.com/manuals/Slimline_Dish_Installation_Manual.pdf

You need BBCs.

The first dish is SWM. The second one is not SWM, it is a conventional LNB.

SWM requires a power inserter (PI). Conventional does not use a PI.

You are correct, a DVR will require two cables from a conventional LNB in order to use both tuners.

You didn't say, but is this the same receiver, that you take with you when you travel? If it is, you may need to rerun satellite setup when you change between the SWM and the non-SWM setups.

If you receive 101-110-119 but have nothing on 99-103, usually it means that the dish is not quite aimed right. SL5 type dishes are significantly more picky about aiming than the older ones. You probably need to tweak the adjustments.

The birdog 4.0 meter should work on both systems, be sure you have the current firmware.

Yeah, you definately need to rerun satellite setup when you move a receiver back and forth between an SWM and non-SWM dish. Both of LNB assemblies you posted pictures of are 5-LNB version, which are somewhat more difficult to align than the 3-LNB version (which you might want to consider for travelling).

Here is what carl6 is talking about regarding the 3-LNB version:
