New Colors

As you can tell, I've made some color changes to the forum. I'm still tweaking a little bit but for the most part it's done. Please let me know what you think. Also, if you see anything out of the ordinary than let me know. Thanks!

I like it. Contrast is good, like the new buttons as well. Great Job!

I read alot, I find it very pleasant on my eyes as well. :)

Boy is this new color scheem hard on the eyes! :) When I first saw the black backround what crossed my mind was "Who died?" Other than that, it was okay. When I went to type out this message and was hit with the bright white reply screen set against the dark gray and black, my eyes started watering. I can barely see to type this now.

Of course I generally sit in a darkened room with not much light that generated by the monitor.

One vote no on the colors anyway. :)

The new colors are awful! No offense, but I mean absolutely awful! It's terribly hard on the eyes. It's way to contrasty in parts. They don't match, or blend.

Thanks for your comments. I admit the color scheme does take some getting used to and much of how it looks depends on how you have your monitor set.

Why don't we give it some time and after a few weeks we can decide if we want to keep it this way or go back.

Anyone visit the AVS forums? I've always thought the color scheme over there was interesting and wanted to try a variation of that scheme.

I will continue tweaking a few things here and there and see how it goes. I know it's not possible to please everyone but I feel that change can sometimes bring about better ways of doing things. Thanks again for your comments!

Yes, I visit AVSForums. The worst part about it (and now DBSTalk) is the horrible color scheme. And don't tell me it's my screen since it's calibrated almost perfectly (to NTSC video standards for DVD playback). No offense intended, just constructive criticism.

I think the colors here are more neutral, now AVS thats Bright. :)

I dont go to AVS because of the colors, yours are almost that arrggghhhh. Just think dbsforums could of driven me away years ago by a simople color change:) I haventr been around much, I am EXTREMELY busy. Begining rebuilding that burnt out house.

i dont like the new colors. please go back to the old ones with the red new buttons.

I, too, find that the new colors make it much more difficult to read. I also find AVS forums needlessly difficult for that reason as well. I prefer the previious, more functional form for this Forum.
