I live in a tree area!! Have the amizuth and elevation settings changed in the last few years for Direct Tv? About 5 years ago I attempted to get Direct TV and couldn't but now it seems that in order to receive 99,101,103 the amzuith and elevations have changed a bit. In the last 5 years 3 trees have been cut down and it seems that I may have more of a shot now TRYING to install direct tv. What channels are on Directv SAT 1?

The SAT locations haven't changed, but there are more/new SATs at 99 & 103 and most of the HD channels are there, instead of the 110 & 119 locations.
The Dish is now centered on 101 instead of 110, so alignment has changed.

5 years ago there wasn't a 99 and 103 to worry about, just 101 and for HD 110 and 119, 99 and 103 weren't even launched yet. For 101 nothing has changed from 5 years ago, same amzuith and elevation so if you couldn't get 101 then you still can't get it today. But if the issue was you could get 101 but not 110 or 119 then you might have a chance.

Yes I have been to google dish pointer. It seems that when the installer (young guy) came out 5 years ago he was FOCUSED on sat 110 and 119!! Which is around 235 amzuith!! Not a chance but he NEVER looked for 101!! That is at 224!! Hmm it is close!! What should I do?

Doesn't cost anything to have them come out and try the install again with only 99/101/103, if he can't install he goes to the next job, no harm no foul.

This is the time of year when you can use the Sun & Moon at a certain time [of day or night] and "see" whether you have a LOS for locations around your house.
