A stand-alone composite/SVid to HDMI converter costs around $250. It would make far more sense to return the TV and buy a better one that already had the inputs you need.

Is this a new TV? Does it have component inputs? Try www.monoprice.com and they will have what you are loooking for.

Yeah, I could conceive of a new TV not having Svideo or composite, but not not having component.
