For years, many Canadian satellite dealers and cable companies have accused Expressvu of going after grey market dealers while allowing hacking of Expressvu go on unabated and knowingly allowing their own gray market business to flourish

Now it appears, starting this month, all legit Expressvu customers are paying an extra $3 month for the priviledge of being honest.

So? Nothing new. Cable subs have been paying to make up for piracy for years. DirecTV and Dish Network can't forever keep prices down in the face of thriving piracy of their services either.

People who steal, and many who don't, think, "well, if stealing was impossible, we wouldn't get the service in the first place so they aren't really losing any money."

HBO, ESPN, etc., DO NOT see it that way and so we all pay higher prices passed on from the higher prices charged to the carriers whether cable or DBS.

    Nothing new.

Exactly!Just like shopkeepers have to raise prices to make up for pilfered and shoplifted merchandise, the video industry has to make up for piracy.
