I have the Plus HD DVR package which has always included the local channels. I checked my account summary online today and it shows a charge of $6 for local channels. I've never been charged for that before. I am assuming this is an error but did something change?

Nothing has changed that I am aware of. Just looked at my recent bill (I have HDDVR+ as well) and I am not showing a charge for my locals.

Your locals are alwas included in the price of your programing.. They dont want you to know you can save $6 by not having them.. Good OTA ant install and digital tuner will get you many more chanels then direct/dish culd curently offer.

I believe opting out of your locals only amounts to a $3.00 savings.
I just tried an address in Montgomery Alabama and the price difference was still $3 ($72.99 versus $75.99)

You should not have that charge for locals. Call D* and have them credit it back-your package is the same as mine, and should be included.

Thanks for the replies. It confirms what I thought, that it was an error.

Exactly the same thing happened to me on Saturday - has now been reversed by CSR. Annoying!

Their system for tracking a customer's programming has some serious flaws. Back in December I called to cancel my MLB Extra Innings package. After I cancelled it no longer showed up when I look at my programming setup on the website so it obviously was processed. Then today I see that I have been billed the first installment for the new season and it magically appeared to my list of programming. I called to correct it and they removed it but along with it also removed my Sunday Ticket subscription. But I don't know if it was actually cancelled or just removed from the list only to show up again at the start of the season like happened with Extra Innings.

It still shows SuperFan but not Sunday Ticket. One CSR told me that I would not getting the renew price since it does not show that I am a Sunday Ticket subscriber but thought it was weird that he could see Super Fan on my account. I'm not happy about it. I dealt with the Vice President of Customer Service's offine on it. I been told that I will get the difference between the renewal price and the early bird price if there is any. We shall see.

I just talked to a CSR about the Sunday Ticket disappearing and she reinstated it. She told me that I would still qualify for any renewal rate because it wasn't actually cancelled but marked as "discontinued", whatever that means. And she couldn't figure out why the charge for my local channels was on there. I'm not sure how that chain reaction works, I cancel MLB Extra Innings for the 2nd time and it removes Sunday Ticket and adds a $6 charge for local channels. Those seem completely unrelated, especially the latter.

They were willing to reinstate Sunday Ticket for me to but it was not going to be the same. They were just going to start me on the 5 payment early bird plan so I would start paying now. Then I would not know what the renewal price would be as they dont know yet. I said no thanks I will wait. I can activate that early bird one myself from the net anytime from the site.

Do they advertise a special rate for renewal subscribers? As far as I knew it's the same for everyone outside of those that have called and gotten something less like free Superfan.

My understanding is that existing subs get the best auto renewal price each year which is supposed to be at least $20 cheaper. I just did not know if it was going to be cheaper then the early bird. I would hope so but I dont know. Last year was my first year to have Sunday Ticket and they accidentally deleted it from my account.

I've had it the past 2 years and the 2nd year my rate was the same as the early bird price, about $250 plus $100 for superfan. Looks like it has gone up $30 for the base package but it doesn't say anything about how much superfan will cost.

While the price for NFL ST has gone up every year, the price for Superfan has remained constant at $99 every year sine it was introduced.
