View Full Version : Can't change my phone number or email address

I changed my email and my phone number recently and made the change on Directv's site. However on my statements it still shows my old # on the statement and it sends email notification of my statement being ready to my old email. Is there anyway to change it without calling in?

How long ago did you change it?

Given how closely tied your account is to your home phone number, I would think you almost have to call in to have that changed.

No idea on the e-mail address. Your old e-mail address isn't your Login ID for DirecTV.com, is it? That may complicate things on that front as well.

LOL, well I use the new one as my login email address. The old phone number appears as my installation phone number but the new # appears as the bill address phone #. Weird!

Thanks I called in and the change wasn't all that bad. I just try to avoid calling in as much as possible! :)

I'd be willing to bet that someone will post that they tried calling in to update the same information, and not only did they not get fixed, but their services had to be refreshed, they lost their DVR ability, they were charged a $10 cancellation fee, got switched from their Grandfathered package - including the Lifetime DVR service, had their commitment extended another two years, and a couple of months later, got dinged for two $470 non-return fees! :D

It sure doesn't hurt to be cautious! Glad they didn't mess anything up for you.
