Dish user for about 10 years now and want to upgrade to HD w/ Dvr's. i currently have 2 SD DVR's and have been very happy w/ them. Whats the best way to approach Dish CSR's to get a good deal?? I suppose I could just call looking to dis-connect permanently (feign going to Fios) and hope for the best deal "to retain me". All comments are welcomed. Would ultimatley like 2 DVR(hd) w/ the dual tuners built in.

Thanks for your expertise.

Thanks for your expertise.:confused:Call DISH and ask about "Dishin it up" that is their lease upgrade program and requires a 2 year commitment, after 10 years that should mean nothing. If you don't like their offer try retention you should get to an account specialist who may be able to offer more but don't be disappointed if they can't.:)

Does that include changing the physical sat. dish for free?? I assume my current dish can't beam in HD?

Thanks for the quick reply!!

Yes, if you need a new dish they come do that as well. I added a 2nd HD DVR a couple months back, and needed a 2nd dish for my HD locals; they came and installed it as part of the deal for no extra charge.

It should be free if you will commit to the 2 years required on the new receivers, the dishes required just come along with it, at least in my experience.

Make sure you have a clear understanding as to how your bill will change from teh upgrade. I had a 721 and 508 receiver and decided to go with a 722. I am very happy with the choice and quickly realized I didn't need a 2nd receiver. You hiowever want HD in two rooms, so it sounds like you're on the right path.

Keep in mind that the dual-output receivers only output HD signals on the TV1 output. The TV2 output is fed via coax and is limited to SD signals only. The TV2 can still watch HD content, including channels that only have an HD version, but HD content will be down-converted to SD by the video circuitry of the TV2 output.

This means that you'll need an HD receiver at each TV that you want to have independent HD channels. Depending on your current and future plans, this may impact the receiver models you'll want to select.
