I just received my bill and it shows $6.00 for DVR Monthly Service. This has never been shown before. Is this correct? I am under the grandfathered HD package of Total Choice Plus. This new price is $57.99!

My bill is as follows:

Total Choice Plus $ 57.99
HD Access 10.00
MLB Extra Innings (1st installment) 44.75
DVR 6.00
Leased Receiver 5.00
Leased Receiver 5.00
Sales Tax .78
______

TOTAL BILL $129.52

You must have been lucky, the DVR fee was never part of TCPlus.

Also there was a $3 increase on all packages. DVR has never been free except on really old TC Premier packages back in the day. Plus DVR and receiver fees went up from $4.99 to $5 even and DVR went from $5.99 to $6 even.

Your bill is correct, it wasn't before, what are you calling about? You should have always been paying the DVR fee.

Just to add, the ONLY reason you should not have been paying a separate line item for the DVR fee is if you had a lifetime DVR fee, since it appears you have had TC+ for quite awhile as well. The DVR fee used to be included in the Premier package, but was removed somewhere in the last 12-18 months or so. They were grandfathering some Premier subscribers in after it was removed, but for the most part they should not be grandfathered anymore, although based on posts here, some of the biggest whiners are still grandfathered in, claiming D* owes them, blah, blah, blah...

Exactly. Why call? The only thing that might happen is you alert them to the mistake and they bill you for all the previous months that you were supposed to have paid a DVR fee.

CCarncross and spartanstew are right. You were spared the DVR fee and now they corrected the mistake. This usually happens if you make even the slightest change into your account (change programming or swap out/add an additional receiver).

The DVR fee was included in Premier...but that was ages ago. I was spared the fee with my HR10-250, but I got popped when I upgraded to the HR20. All in all, it was good while it lasted.

last year, i got a new receiver and had to have them make the new receiver my primary. they ended up removing all of my programming and re-adding, thus causing me to lose my grandfathered premier free DVR fee. i called, and now every month i still get the DVR fee automatically taken off.
