The rep from the installation company called me and asked if I wanted to bump up my install. Of course I said yes and they came out and got everything running about a week and a half ago. Now I get a call that I have another install, (original date) for Monday. I tried calling direct to cancel but they said that they can't cancel. The only positive for me is that the first installer didn't have the internet adapters that I originally ordered, so hopefully the second one will. But I don't want him/her to not get paid to just deliver a couple of adapters. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

"Internet Adapters?"..................Directv installs DTV. You may be on an installation list for Directway, WildBlue or HughNet. You are now a DTV customer with service and a bill on the way.
You might try the web site to communicate with them. Also there is a chance that when your account opens it cancels the second installation. You don't have to accept a second visit.
The standard answer is that with so many installations going in every day there is an occasional misstep and your situation is an example.
Report back how it is resolved.

I think he means by "Internet Adapters", the ones Directv sells to took up your HDDVR to the net(the Internet Connection kit).

They donīt have them or give them out anymore.
To the OP just forget about it. That appointment should self cancel.

Nevermind, another installer showed up at the very end of the window, (8am-noon, showed up at 11:55), I told him that obviously the install was already done so I didn't need him. Tried to get him to leave me the internet connection kit but he wouldn't. Feel bad for the guy, but I made every effort to cancel this trip and couldn't figure out a way to do it.

You are a good guy for trying.
Some companies double book on purpose to make sure the job gets in. Some just can't keep track of changes. Sometimes two or more companies take the same job and have the techs race to the door.
Enjoy the DTV.

Oh I am enjoying the DTV very much, the difference between this and Time Warner is so large it is amazing.
