301 - slow channel change

I recently bought a 301 as a second receiver. I'm surprised by how slow channel up/down is. It takes almost 5 seconds after I click the remote before the channel shows up. My "old" unit (4900?) changes instantly. Do I have a bad unit...or screwed up some configuration?

4900 instantly? Mine never has been instant at anything, it is slow to change channels but not a full 5 seconds worth. This was infuriating as hell when I first got them and still is aggravating to me today.
