If you are one of many who had an issue installing the Steam Game client on Windows 7 (32 or 64), a solution has been found. It works. I used it and successfully installed the client.

Solution Instructions:

Click the Start button http://wer.microsoft.com/Responses/include/images/StartButton_16x16.gif, click All Programs, and then click Accessories.
Right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. http://wer.microsoft.com/Responses/include/images/SecurityBadge_16x16.gif In the User Account Control window, verify that Program name is Windows Command Processor, and then click Yes.
In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type or paste the following text at the prompt:
reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\Disabled Sessions /va /f
Press Enter to install the solution.
If The operation completed successfully displays, close the Administrator: Command Prompt window to complete this procedure. If "ERROR: Access is denied" displays, repeat this procedure from the top, making sure you clicked Run as administrator in step two.

Larry,

I'm sure I'm not alone in sending thanks for all of the Win7 updates you've been providing. I like to keep current, but don't have a whole lot of time, so you're updates have been enlightening. Thanks.
