I am having alot of trouble getting my HR22-100 to work. I have a SlimLine KA/KU HDTV Dish (I included a picture). It has 4 lines coming out of it, I only have one line hooked up to the HR22 with ONLY a BBC between the dish and receiver. The other lines are not connected to anything. I am getting no signal at all. All transponders read 0. When I change the HR22 out with a SD D12-700 with no BBC I get all transponders in the 90's.

I have received some conflicting advice about whether or not I need BBC's at all, but it doesn't matter if I have them hooked up it made no difference. Do I need some other device between the receiver and the dish, like a multiswitch?

The receiver is supposed to detect the sat type by itself, which one should I pick if I setup myself?

Any advice would help, thank you very much.

Make sure you are hooking up the single line into the sat 1 input, if you hook it up without the bbc installed you won't get all of your HD channels. Check the inside of your connectors too make sure they look good and have no stray metal braiding strands inside touching the center conductor.

As noted, make sure you are connected to the Sat1 input if you only have one coax line.

You would normally want two coax lines to the HR22, one for each tuner. That is needed to get dual tuner function. It will work with only one tuner but it limits the capabilities of the DVR.

The BBC is required, but make sure it is installed correctly. The short pigtail connects to the input connector on the DVR, and the coax from the dish connects to the connector on the other end of the BBC.

Connect the coax cable to the bbc and the bbc to the HR Tuner 1 input before plugging it into the power outlet. If that doesn't fix the problem, move to the next step.

If still no signal, unplug, remove the bbc and connect coax directly to the unit, then reconnect power. If you are getting signal on the 101, 110, 119, then you have a bad bbc.

If you still do not have signal (and you did verify this cable is good by connecting the D12 to it), then it sounds like you may have a bad tuner.
