Hi, all members, I am new to everything and will be asking a lot stupids questions. Please be patient while I am in learning mode.

I had been with DTV for a while and now I am upgrading to HD receivers and replace the old 1 LNB old dish.

I just brought a DTV slimline dish with AU9 with 5 LNB.

I need to know steps by steps how to install the new AU9 dish.

Thank you all.:D

Follow the directions. Pay close attention to the fine tuning, or dithering, instructions.

I will be install one HD receiver no, dvr and a standard receiver.

I went through the solidsignal video and pdf files.

The dish is install but I don't have a special signal finder like the professional installer do.

I need to know which LNB to point to first? The middle or the two on the left end.

Which LNB aim first and to which satellite?

Thanks

I have to ask - why didn't you do this through DirecTV? They would have installed the dish free with the order....

I think you're in over your head. If you've never installed a satellite dish before, installing one of these multisatellite dishes is a hard way to learn. You'll save yourself much time and frustration by getting some expert help .... either a knowledgable friend/neighbor, or DirecTV installer.

As texaxbrit points out, DirecTV will provide the dish with free installation when you add HD equipment to your account.

Call D* and schedule a install/upgrade, When the installer arrives he will install the dish you have purchased--for free.
