A buddy of mine is turning his detatched garage into a Man Cave and wants to hook up DirecTV in there.
I was wondering if, instead of running a long cable from the house to the garage, you could hook up a second dish on the garage. But still have the boxes as add ons to the original account.
That shouldnt be violating any agreement right?

So long as it is the same service address, there are no problems with multiple dishes feeding the same account.

Before we could use splitters to feed multiple switches, many accounts with more than 4 DVRs had to have multiple dishes. (I came very close when I crossed the 8 tuner boundary. Thankfully they found the solution rather than force a second dish on my house.) :)

Man-law. :)

I have a slimline on my detatched garage. I just bought it myself and installed it. I'm not sure if they will come out and put one up for free.

Call up their Movers Program and see if they can install a dish on the man cave for you, with the receiver(s) you need.:)
