Moxi MC is a set-top box design includes a modem, hard drive and Firewire ports and runs on a modified Linux operating system. It will record and playback digital video, serve as an e-mail or IM center and communication with other consumer devices.

...Satellite television company EchoStar, an early investor in Moxi Digital. is working to add Moxi's software to EchoStar's advanced satellite television receivers.

It LOOKS interesting, how it runs is another thing.

It outputs to 4 TV's
It Plays DVD's and CD's
It Rips CD Audio to your Hard Drive
Its an Audio Jukebox
Its A PVR
It can do broadband

It slices, dices and makes julian fries... Ok It don't do that.

Look cool, however since it appears it will replace 4 receivers it appears this baby will be expensive. Looks like you need money to get some Moxi!

I predict something like this will be at least $700.00 I wonder if the Moxi service will be included or sold seperately?

The paragraphs at the end of this article make me worried. This is definitely a pipe dream product right now. Whether or not it is a usable product once it hits the street is another matter...
