Local Mapping

Hey!! Just got locals except FOX, but what is the secret with the local mapping. I don't have that yet. I have a PVR 721 and a Dishpro 301. Are these supposed to have local mapping?

Local mapping takes a few hours after the PVR721 is activated to kick in (it most likely will be there the morning after the PVR721 is activated). I don't know exactly why this is but it's a known issue.

I am on my second 721, and my experience is that it takes ~24 hours for the locals to map, and another ~24 hours for the guide info to show up in the mapped locals. If you try to set a pvr timer to record a mapped local prior to the guide info being there, you get an error. YMMV

I "moved " to Houston recently and my 721 loaded the channels to their lower channel numbers almost instantly just like the 508s did. As soon as I got off the phone from telling the csr my new address, there they were.

Thanks but 18 hours later I still don't have local mapping on my 721 or 301.

Call Dishnet maybe...
