View Full Version : Quality of new local channels
The newly added PBS channel here in Denver looks absolutely DEPLORABLE!!!! They have obviously pulled the signal off an antenna, and it is entirely unwatchable. Wavy lines floating through the screen - red and blue specks appearing all over the picture - I could get a better signal by sticking a paper clip into the back of my TV. Why do they even bother? It's not even a pixelation issue - it's an issue of them using a crap signal to begin with. Don't tell me they can't get a better signal than that. It's 2002 for Christ's sake.
Anyone else have non-pixelated PQ issues with their new local channels?
All of my locals look pretty good but I know what you mean. There are times when I can tell they are pulled from the air (ghosting and such). You might want to call or e-mail your local PBS station and tell them what's going on. Maybe they will contact Dish to fix the problem since Dish is responsible for supplying a reasonably good picture to the end user.
KRMA is definitely a mess...it has exactly the same problems as it does on cable. I just switched back and forth between channel 6 off of ATT cable and channel 8206 off of dish - they look identical to me. I don't think this is a Dish problem - it's a low power transmission problem.
