I received 0x410A on my H20-600 at 2:12AM on 4/1/09. Everything appears to work properly, including local channels received by the OTA tuner.

H20-600 still blocks PPV over HDMI. Non-PPV channels, including HD, come in fine.

H20-100/H20-600: 0x410A
Staggered release began 4/1/09.

I've tried manual firmware updates a few times over the last few days on my H20-100. Still on 0x4104. So far this seems, from this thread, to be a H20-600 update only.

Update after 1 week

Still no 0x410A update for my H20-100.

I do not know if this is related to the recent update to the H20-600 or not but for the past several days my son's DirecTV receivier keeps going out and requiring a RBR. This fixes this problem for anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours but then he gets the "Searching for Satellite Signal" again.

I have checked the cables and everything is fine. I also have 3 other TVs in the house beside his and none of them are experiencing any problems.

I am unsure what else to do but call DirecTV.

Can anyone help me solve this issue without having to call DirecTV?

Thanks for your hlep. :)

No I have not seen that thread!

Thanks for the information. I can not believe that DirecTV does not do a better job with communicating this information with their customers.

My H20-600 that is in my son's room is approximately 2 years old. I have another one in our bedroom that is 3 + years old.

I have a replacement receiver coming from Best Buy. I wonder if there is anyway I can get reimbursed by DirecTV for having to purchase this to replace the defective receiver?

Thanks again for posting this info.

These forums are great for getting up to date info on DirecTV!

I got my new H21-200 installed in my son's room and I called DirecTV and activated it today. I asked the CSR if there was anyway I could get credited the cost of the recalled H20-600 that I was replacing since it was not working now. The CSR said that they could not credit my account since I had already bought one from Best Buy. I explained to her that I did not know that DirecTV had recalled these until after I had already bought it from best Buy.

Bottom line the CSR said that if I would have called DirecTV first before purchasing the new one that they would have shipped me a replacement free of charge!

Oh well I guess you live and learn. I will know next time to call them first.

I'd like to know also if this is still be pushed. I'm on 4104 and caller id decided it no longer wants to work.

It gets logged but never comes up on screen. Resetting doesn't fix it.

My H20-100 receiver software is also still at 0x4104, installed Tuesday, 01/13/2009 at 2:33am; therefore, I would also be curious if the new 410A release is still being pushed out to customers.

I doubt there was/is a 0x410A update for the H20-100. I'm sure it was only for the H20-600.

Hello everyone.

I am Brand new into the satellite world. switched from cable provider this saturday.

I have the H22-100 as a DVR in my living room, 2 additional standard boxes, and in my bedroom i have this H20-600.

Few things I have noticed while getting accustomed to my new guide and channel numbers:

why is it that the H20 box will let you see channels 70-90 but will not let you tune them in? I get an error stating something about my switching box.. this installation was just performed 2 days ago, i doubt anything is unplugged.

I ask this because i tried to turn on channel 70 on my DVR and it doesn't even know that channel exists (it is HBOE HD) i realize that 501 is the same channel and that one comes in just fine; but when i filter my guide through "channels i get" these channels still show up. I also see espn, and espn2 in that channel range.. but they are also in the 200's..

guess my question is why does these channels show up twice on my guide. and not on my DVR?

forgive me for being so ignorant.

any comments to help would be greatly appreciated as i'm just confused and trying to learn the most about my directv experience.

Welcome to dbstalk, Karl.

My guess is that the H series guide info hasn't caught up to the HR series.

The reason for the dup channels is that the channels in the 70-90 range were the original HD channels, and are delivered in MPEG2 format. They have been remapped to higher channel numbers that are being delivered in MPEG4 format. Eventually the 'old' lower numbered dup channels will be phased out completely.

thanks, I figured those channels were just being moved and my h series box was just behind the times. I checked the firmware and it recieved its latest x410a firmware the day it was installed.

thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure if my box was bad or not.

Then the OP needs to edit his thread.

Does anyone know if the H20-600 will get updated to a similar firmware release that is present on the H22/H23s? I love the quick tune feature on my H23 receivers and my HR22 DVR.

Hello, I am new to the forum.

I am going to follow instructions on the board here to go with a SWM3 with power inserter and splitter this weekend.

I have an HR23 and 3 H20 boxes. I understand there is some sort of firmware update that my H20s will need in order to work with the SWM3.

How do I know / can I tell if I have the right firmware updated on my H20s?

Thanks in advance,
Heath
