I have to replace at least half a dozen D11 receivers that are in a headend that NACE built for me in early 2006. As I recall, there were two different heights of D11 receivers: some which could conveniently be racked eight to a shelf, and others that only conveniently fit six on a shelf. These racks had eight to a shelf.

Does anyone know which receivers (D11-X00) were the thick, or tall ones and which were the thin ones? NACE only has D11-500s in stock. If I can't get receivers that fit those rack shelf slots, then I'll either have to add a couple shelves that can hold the wider, new receivers or take my chances with eBay, which is now an adventure since most D11s are leased rather than owned, and the pre-owned ones may have balances due.

Were there any thin D10-X00s that I might be able to use?

For the -100 and -500 it is :Dimensions (WxHxD) 12.3 x 2.04 x 10.2

Of course those are results from some google work, YMMV

The ones you want to avoid are the D12-100s, which are larger. I designed a head-end around D11s and D12-600 (?) and when I got the actual receivers, they were D12-100s and wouldn't fit. That set the whole project back a day. <grr> Fortunately, I always build in extra rack space.

I bought some D10-100s on eBay cheap. They were a couple of inches wider, meaning taller when stood on edge, they were slightl taller, but they fit right into the D11 slots, so I shuffled receivers around such that all the tall receivers were to be on one shelf, and I simply moved up the top shelf bracket to accommode them.

One good thing about the D10-100s is that they had some ventholes in their sides, whereas my D11s did not, so when you stand them on edge, the D11s are more prone to overheating.

The philips D11-300 (and identical form factor D10-300) were as I recall the shortest receivers of those model lines. It was slightly wider though, and I only ever installed a very few D11-300 units. Mostly what I dealt with were D11-100 and D11-500 units which shared similar dimensions.
