Cable, Broadcast in Dead Heat for Sweep
Ad-supported cable networks tied the seven broadcast outlets in aggregate primetime audience share in households during May, marking the first stalemate during a sweep month.
Broadcast and cable each earned a 48 share (i.e. percentage of the available audience) from April 28-May 25, according to ratings data compiled by Tim Brooks, senior vp research at Lifetime. The data, however, don't match up precisely with the May sweep month, which runs from April 24-May 21.
