Jim and Ahmed (No Charlie)

Announcement of few Local Markets and channels that recently came to live and available to Subscribers...

NBC Paducah - recently available - ch 9257
Waco - KAKW - to become available on June 18 - ch 899x more likely - (an educated guess) :)
Waco - PBS - available today - ch 8992
Tuscon - KHRR - available today - ch 8958
Sioux Falls, S.D. - NBC - ch 9232 - became available recently
Sioux Falls, S.D. - KAUN - Pax - ch 9237 - available today

Some of newer Locals (that just became available) - Customers might get Free Preview - that is why those "WOW" channels (with slates on them) are on some people's EPG
Those might include - Paducah, Jacksonville, Knoxville, Roanoke, Tellehassee..

68 Local Markets are "Up" now!

All Spanish moving to 800s... Customers will be notified - by Mail, etc (channels will be mirrored for a while at both locations, and the slate will more likely go on to old ones, saying that channels moving to 800s - as it was the case with locals, when they moved away from 700/800 blocks...

In June - new channel 101 (i think) - will be called "Dishnetwork 101" - Different Look from now, etc i guess...
Ahmed was excited about this upcoming channel... He also went fishing on the Weekend and brought a photograph of him holding Big fish, and some other dude holding small fish :) (but that is beside the point of course)

Next Retailer Chat - June 24, 12 Noon, Eastern Time

Next Charlie Chat - June 9, 9:00 PM Eastern Time..

IMHO, E* needs to do free previews of locals like D* does. Most regular subs have no idea when the locals are turned on. I get my locals from D*, while my friend with E* didn't get locals until I told her they were available.

I think that is what they are doing (or planning to do) ..As mentioned above...
Just not sure if they will do it for all the Subs or for the New Local Markets only...

earthlink has more dial pops than any ISP in the country. ok I'm keepin my mouth shut, but correct information would be nice. dial and dsl are not the same. just in case anybody was wondering about that little random factoid.
