I need some help on a computer problem. I am constantly getting script errors as I surf the net. Most of them appear when a pop-up ad has been blocked. I have already gone in and checked the scrpit debugging and unchecked not to diplay script errors and it still does. I am running windows me, internet explorer version 6.0, and I have a DSL connection which I already have been told that DSL will have script errors but they appear almost every 10 minutes. Anyone else have that problem??

I have a cable modem, with ME and IE 6, and I also get the script error message fairly often. I don't have script error/debugging boxes checked because it doesn't really seem to be a problem.

Hmmm... bring up Internet Options and click on the Advanced tab. Make sure that "Disable script debugging" is checked and "Display a notification about every script error" is not checked. You may need to reboot. (Checking original post) Oh, I see you've done that. Hmmmm.....
Internet Explorer tends to be very forgiving when it comes to bad scripts and/or bad HTML code.

Could be Java based? Some apps want the Real Sun Java add-in not the MS java VM. I started using the Sun Java addin and those problems seemed to go away but then other problems occurred. I uninstalled the Sun Java add-in and things went back to the old way which was less annoying but not perfect.

It's not related to the windows scripting host thing is it? I used to disable that on my win98 boxes but I think it's enabled on the laptop that has IE6 on it now.
If you're not sure you can go into your system components in the control panel/add remove software (or whatever that's called with ME/98 if it's different) and see if it's checked. I believe that the windows update page needs this enabled to work right, but it could be something else I am thinking about.
