View Full Version : Redbox
I posted this in another thread but cant find it worth anything. But does the redbox had blu ray? I looked at one at walmart yesterday and it did really say yes or no. And do they have movies on the day they release?

I don't know about day-and-date release being the same as other places, but it's pretty close. I do know they are rolling out Blu-Ray rentals but I have yet to see a redbox with them. When my local redbox gets them, that's the last day I'll probably set foot in Blockbuster.
According to www.redbox.com, they have rolled out Blu-ray to a limited number of stores, primarily select Wal-mart stores.
what would really be cool if a redbox or something similar just burned copies of the movie on dispposable disks that way a lot more titles could be offered. that way if rented a movie it would always be a clean copy.

There were some technologies about 10 years ago where the disk would degrade so that using it after a two or three days was impossible, but they never took off. You'd need something like that.

I wish there was a Redbox nearer to me than 25 miles. The fuel cost wipes out the price advantage. There are closer Walmart and Albertson's stores, but they don't carry the DVDs. I see that some McDonalds have redbox, but none around here.

Unless the Redbox is inside the Blockbuster store. With how Blockbuster is peforming lately, who knows what could happen.
I've got a few near me...mostly in Walgreens and grocery stores. I'll have to give them a try.
