I have had directv service for approximately 2 weeks now and my HR20-700 receiver has had the time off by 1 hr (shows 7pm when it is actually 8pm) since the start - I have the time-zone (Pacific) and daylight savings (on) set correctly. The receiver is not connected to phone-line or networked currently - I will be networking it soon to be able to receive DoD. I have already tried to reset the receiver. Any ideas?

Go into the setup and look at the timezone. It is either in the wrong one or set to automatic which sometimes will also give a wrong time.
Set it to the correct one and you'll be good.

Already did that - it is set to the correct time-zone, also daylight saving is set to on.

Do you know if the installer upgraded the firmware when he installed the box? Perhaps there was something in a newer version to accommodate the new Daylight Savings Time dates?

I was thinking I could be related to the daylight saving change introduced last year (or year before?) but it should now be daylight savings under the old dates also. I don't think the installer updated the firmware - a new version of the software was downloaded from the satellite as part of the installation though.

Does it show the correct time if you turn daylight savings off?

change the zone, reboot, then change it back again to correct one.
happened to me before.

For reboot, just use the red button next to the access card or remove the power plug?

menu reset, sorry.

if that does not work mod Greg Alsobrook has experience with time issues and might be able to help.

Hi - I just got an HR21 installed and it is also showing the wrong time... The time in the display was set to Auto (Eastern) so it was showing the right one as I am in EST and Daylight Savings was also set to auto. I set then both manually and rebooted via Menu and not RBR but still shows the wrong time???

Any other suggestions?
