I was a member in GOOD standing with DISH for years BUT a couple of years or so ago - I went to Comcast, I now am contemplating a return to my "1st Love" - do you think they will allow me to receive NEW Customer prices?

TKS:confused:

If you have been gone for more than a year, you will be considered a NEW user for deals. Ususally only takes 6 months to a year, to clear out of the system.

Not quite new, but pretty close to new. Last time I read fine print (many months), you had to have subscribed for 6 months, been gone for 6 months, and "good standing" was whatever they choose it to mean to them, not regular folks. ;)

A former sub had to do a 24 month commit but a new sub could opt for no commit. Former sub can't use ClubDISH referral. A couple nits along those lines, but it was essentially the same deal a new sub would get (at least it was then).

EDIT: The former sub terms is now buried in Flash, but you can read it at http://www.dishnetwork.com/legal/disclaimers/dha/

Eligibility. Services and equipment must be ordered, installed and activated between and including February 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009. This offer is limited to: A) new, first-time residential DISH Network subscribers; and B) former residential DISH Network subscribers who: 1) previously maintained for no less than 6 consecutive months an active DISH Network account in good standing status as determined in DISH Network’s sole discretion; 2) voluntarily disconnected any and all prior DISH Network accounts; 3) timely paid any and all balances owing under their prior DISH Network account(s) in full; and 4) have not received DISH Network programming or other services during the 6-month period prior to activation under this promotion (“Former DISH Network Subscribers”).

Not considered NEW NEW.... Not eligible for all the same offers, I would have your wife or who ever put it in their name and just add xxx & yourname to the account as the first name.

That was my situation too. I was a Dish subscriber for a few years, switched to Comcast for two years, and then went back to Dish. The only restriction that I had coming back to Dish was that I had to do the commitment (18 months at that time). I still got the free installation, free equipment, and discounted programming for 12 months like a new customer.

Well,to the best of my knowledge, you have to be gone 24 months to qualify as a "new" customer. However, I have learned over time that the same rules don't apply for retailers and DNS.

Retailers built Dish but get the crap end of the deal on most everything,so I would not be surprised if one year is the standard if you call Dish directly.
